✨Tide✨ This original oil painting was created on a 6x8In wood gesso board.

This painting was inspired by my recent trip to St. John. I painted this piece from imagination. Typically I’ll use a reference photo especially if I’m striving for realism, however sometimes I like to challenge myself and go without. I find it valuable to paint from memory and see what you can create without the pressure of needing to replicate a photograph. Doing this a few times I’ve notice I’m drawn to very pigmented, saturated colors. I’ve been learning a lot about color theory and I’m excited to start implementing some new strategies to my upcoming artwork.
