This was such a fun painting to create! I’ve definitely always been a fan of marine life, jellies, sharks, sea turtles, octopus, seahorses.. I just love them all so much! I wanted to create this painting with a primarily black background to really contrast against the bright, vivid pigments of the jellies. I also spent a great deal of time rendering these bubbles to look almost 3 dimensional, like at any moment they could just float off the painting.
